Dear Parents and Carers
This week I have been interviewing families who have applied to send their child to St Matthew’s in 2024. I would have to rate this task as one of my more enjoyable jobs as a principal. I find meeting new families and hearing their story to be especially interesting. It is wonderful feedback to hear why they have chosen St Matthew’s as their preferred school.
I am always reminded of the huge trust parents place in the school as they begin a seven-year journey during some of the most critical years in a child’s development. Normally the parents’ goals for their child are simple in those early years; to make friends, to feel safe at school, to be exposed to values which are enforced in their homes and to begin the journey to becoming literate and numerate.
Thankyou for entrusting the staff to do such important work each day.
Tell Them from Me Survey
You may have received a flyer during the past two weeks urging you to participate in this important survey. Mrs Cole has made a huge effort to lift participation rates in order to get more accurate feedback. Please make every effort to participate in this survey, we take your feedback very seriously. Your comments are strongly considered when we begin our planning for next year and beyond.
Please use the QR Code here which will take you straight to the survey.
Staffing
Mrs Michelle Roberts has informed me that she has accepted a position to teach at Burgmann College commencing in Term Three.
I would like to thank Michelle for her contribution to St Matthew’s, especially Year 5M during the past semester.
The position has been advertised and I am hopeful of making an appointment before the end of term to ensure a smooth handover.
Vinnies Winter Appeal
Thank you so much for your support with today’s Winter Appeal. The children relate strongly to providing support for those people who are less privileged. Their kindness and compassion are fostered in their homes. Well done!
May God bless you and your families.
