Dear Parents and Carers

I hope the year is progressing well for you and your family.

Our children have settled well into the new year and there is a calm feeling throughout the school.

I am always aware how difficult it is for new families to learn the various modes of communication each school uses. If you are finding that you are missing important information, please contact our Front Office and they will help you.

The very best source of information concerning the progress of your child will come from your child’s teacher. If you are unsure about a procedure, event or issue please make an appointment to speak to the teacher.

Please be mindful that teachers are generally not in front of a computer during the day and as such an urgent request via an email may go unread for many hours.

Rotary Donation
Thank you to Dr Katy Lees from the Rotary Club of Belconnen who arranged a very generous donation of $500 to our school. This money has been directed to our Library where it will be used to purchase new books.

Your responses indicated:

• A strong willingness to support and assist at the Mother’s and Father’s Day BBQs. These events are held in the Junior Playground before school on the Friday beforehand.
• A willingness to continue the “Shop” which is held on the same day where children buy a gift for their mother or father.
• A strong interest in beginning a Tea/Coffee Morning Tea on Friday mornings following morning assembly.
• A very strong interest in holding a Trivia Evening during the Winter months. A group of respondents indicated they would be prepared to be a member of an organising committee
• A smaller group of parents expressed their desire to assist at an end of term BBQ for our children

Our Community Council will now consider the responses and set some dates for these proposed events.
