Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome back, I hope you had a break from your normal routines over the holiday break.
We have started the term well with children looking refreshed and ready to learn.
School Improvements
Our Stage Two building works continue to progress well with the internal paintwork finished and joinery installed. We are confidently tracking towards a mid-November completion date. Please do not quote me if that date passes with the children still not back in their rooms!
Speaking of patience, our senior children are still eagerly awaiting the completion of their playground. The softfall installation is the final stage!
Security Cameras
You may have noticed that the school has reluctantly purchased security cameras which will now monitor the building before and after school hours. I say reluctantly, because I would have preferred the not inconsequential cost to be spent on resources for the children. Our recent spate of vandalism, combined with the rise in insurance premiums, has made the purchase unavoidable.
Thank you
Thank you for dressing your child in their full school summer uniform to commence the term. The children were a credit to you as they walked through the gate on Monday morning.
Swimming
Next week is swimming week for all children from Kindergarten to Year Six. It was quite apparent at this year’s carnival that the interruptions caused by COVID have impacted on the number of children who are able to swim. My advice would be to use this week as an introductory session and follow up with more lessons over the holidays if your child is still uncertain in the water.
Trivia Night
Finally, we are looking forward to a great evening tomorrow night at the Trivia Night. Thank you to the organising committee who have worked hard to present a great evening for everyone. I understand the numbers are nearing eighty people which is an excellent result.
May God bless you and your families.
