Dear Parents and Carers
Farewell
I am sad to report that today is the final day at St Matthew’s for our wonderful Front Office Manager, Mrs Mary Roche. Mary will be returning to Ireland with her family to provide support to her extended family. Mary’s association with our school extends many years having served as a very active parent in our community before joining our staff.
On behalf of our community I would like to offer our heartfelt best wishes to Mary and her family as they return to their homeland during the school holidays. She will certainly be missed!
Working Bee
Thank you to the parents, staff and children who supported last Sunday’s Working Bee. We were delighted with the response, which was so strong in number, it enabled all the planned tasks to be completed.
Another Working Bee will be planned for spring time during which we intend to complete the area adjacent to the Kindergarten block. Thanks once again everyone, your support was much appreciated.
Cross Country and Colour Fun Run
A reminder that this event will be held on the first Friday of the new school term. Please keep this date free if you are able to assist in any capacity on the day. As indicated in earlier newsletters the Cross Country will be held as usual at Stromlo Park, the children will then return to school to eat their lunch and compete in the Colour Run.
At last count over $6000 has been donated for the Colour Run which is a very pleasing result.
We will provide you with additional information in the days leading up to the Cross Country.
Pupil Free Day
Just a reminder that we have been informed by the Catholic Education Office that the first scheduled day back in Term Two, 19th April has been declared a Pupil Free Day.
Our After Hours Care Providers have indicated that they will be offering care on that day. If you would like to access this service please make contact with OSHCLUB on 0437730454 or online www.oshclub.com.au
Finally I would like to wish you and your family a very peaceful Easter Holiday break. I hope the peace of the Risen Lord surrounds your family during this time.
May God bless you and your families
