Dear Parents and Carers
Anniversary Dinner
Tomorrow evening our much anticipated 50th Anniversary Dinner will be celebrated at Pialligo Estate. The evening has been twelve months in the planning with a dedicated group of parents working hard to fund raise, finalise a venue, select a band and plan for the evening.
The result promises to be a fabulous evening to celebrate this significant milestone in the short history of our school.
Thankyou in anticipation to Jessana Pirotta, Chelsea Rey and Julia Rutter for their fabulous work. We will provide a full report in next week’s newsletter.
Book Week
Our Book Week celebrations were finalised on Monday with presentations from a visiting author, Alison Tate. Alison had an opportunity to speak to children from Years 4, 5 and 6. She is best known as the author of A Book of Secrets and A Book of Answers. The children thoroughly enjoyed her presentation, particularly her insights on how to become a successful author.
Building Update
Work has recommenced on the Transportable Building in the Junior Playground. We are hopeful that Year 4B will be relocating to their new surrounds during the next three weeks. The air-conditioning and heating is now installed in the Stage One renovations.
Father’s Day Celebrations
Thank you to Kristy Marks and Liz Susic who have generously volunteered to run a Father’s Day stall for the children tomorrow. Children will have an opportunity to buy a present for their fathers by bringing a $5 note as payment.
May God bless you and your families.

Pop Up Clothing Pool
St Matthew’s Clothing Pool (pre-loved uniforms) will open on the next Pupil Free day which will be held on Friday September 9th September.
This will be an excellent opportunity to stock up on articles of summer uniform.
The Clothing Pool will open 10am – 12 noon.
Please mark this date in your calendar.
Lost and Found
We have piles and piles of unmarked clothing in our Lost and Found cupboard.
We urge all families to ensure that school clothing – especially jackets, jumpers and hats – is clearly marked with your child’s name or surname.
The most basic way to label your child’s clothes is with permanent marker, which is safe and works on most types of fabric. We’ve heard that masking tape can also be effective.
