Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you had an opportunity to rest and recuperate over the long weekend. Autumn is a spectacular season in Canberra. The children are enjoying the mild temperatures, which are perfect for learning.
New Senior Playground Equipment
During the past few months, we have been investigating the replacement of the playground equipment and softfall on the Belconnen Way side of the school. This has been a long-term project, slowed by the delays which accompanied the Pandemic.
I am now pleased to announce that we have appointed a company to commence these works as soon as they have capacity.
The company provided us with several proposals regarding the replacement of the equipment. Our next step is to consult with our senior students as to which proposal they would favour.
It is also our intention to replace the Junior Playground equipment and softfall. Our scheduled building refurbishment of the Junior end of our building would mean however that our school site would be far too busy if this was to proceed at the same time. Once the building refurbishment is complete, hopefully by the end of this year, we can make plans to proceed with this project.
Every Tuesday this term the children have participated in dance lessons run by Dance Core. To say the children have enjoyed the lessons would be a huge understatement. I have included a photograph of our Year Four children in full flight. It is great to see those reluctant children up on the dance floor enjoying themselves.
Many thanks to Cassie who is a wonderful instructor.
Congratulations
A very big congratulations to Elsie Hamilton who was nominated for a School Sport ACT Excellence in Sport Award in the 12&U Achievement category.
