Principal Talk with Mrs Lowe

Crazy Sock Day!

This Friday, we’re excited to invite all students to join in the fun for Crazy Sock Day! Your child is encouraged to come to school in their wildest, most colourful, mismatched, or outrageous socks to support a great cause. Crazy Sock Day is more than just a day of fun – it’s a fundraiser to support the vital work of Catholic Missions.

For a gold coin donation, students can show off their unique sock style while helping make a positive difference in communities in need. Funds raised will go directly to Catholic Missions, supporting their projects that bring hope, resources, and support to disadvantaged communities around the world.

Thank you for your support, and we can’t wait to see all the fantastic socks on Friday!

Reminder: Student Arrival Time and Supervision

Digital Clock Time at 8.30 AM, Digital Clock 12 Hour Format ...

This is a friendly reminder that students should not be arriving at school before 8:30 am unless they are enrolled in before-school care. Supervision begins at 8:30 am each morning, and it’s essential that students are not on the school grounds prior to this time without adult supervision.

We understand that morning schedules can be busy. If you need care before 8:30 am, please consider utilising our before-school care program, which provides a supervised environment for students.

Planning Class Lists for 2025 – Friendship Five

This week, each student has been invited to consider and write down their “Friendship Five” – a list of up to five classmates with whom they feel they collaborate and learn well. This list will help us as we create balanced, supportive classes for the new year.

When forming class lists, we prioritise several factors to ensure each child is set up for success. Alongside the “Friendship Five,” we take into account individual learning needs, behavioural needs, and the overall dynamics of each class. We know that friendships play an important role in a child’s happiness and comfort at school, and we’ll make every effort to ensure that each student is placed with at least one friend from their list.

The class teachers will begin to collaborate on these lists from next week, and we aim to have these finalised and shared with you by Friday, 13 December. On this day, the students will also spend some time with their 2025 teachers.

Sushi Tuesdays

Just a reminder that ALL sushi orders need to be in by Sunday night, and orders can only be placed from the White Rice Handrolls and Deluxe Items menus.

Contagious Illnesses at School

Currently, several contagious illnesses are circulating, including influenza, whooping cough and gastroenteritis. To help keep our school environment healthy and safe for everyone, we kindly ask that you keep your children at home if they are unwell. For cases of gastroenteritis, please ensure your child stays home for at least 24 hours after their last episode of symptoms.

For further guidance, we have attached the "School Exclusion Periods" information flyer from Health Direct, which outlines the recommended time away from school for various illnesses.

The School Explorers - School Transition Program

This week's School Explorers session, 'Discover it!' will focus on developing science skills aimed at developing the children's inquiring minds. This week, our 5B class will be working with our pre-school friends.

We ask that when parents and carers arrive, they sign the attendance sheet in the foyer and move into the school hall for the commencement of each session at 2.00 pm. Parents and carers are welcome to stay or drop off their children and return at the end of the session at 2.50 pm.
