School Community Council News

Hello, St. Matthew's School Community.
The School Community Council (SCC) Executive met this week to discuss 2025 fundraising goals and to plan for upcoming SCC events. We have decided to contribute funds to support the school with the purchase of 2 sets of soccer goals and shade sails to provide coverage in playground areas. Please read below to learn how you can help.
Fundraising with Bulbs orders close Thursday, April 10 (Term 1, week 10)
This event is through Tesselaar, a flower bulb supplier based in VIC. All orders come with a comprehensive set of easy-to-follow instructions with practical advice on how to grow and care for your plants. 40% of the profits go directly towards our school.
Share this website with friends and family and orders ship directly to them within a few weeks: http://www.bulbfundraiser.com.au/STMATT
Federal Election Events at St. Matthew’s
As we await the release of the election day, the SCC Exec are preparing for this community engagement opportunity. We are planning to run a BBQ, have a cake stall and run a raffle to raise funds for the school. There will be a call-out for volunteers with duties and timeslots listed after the date of the election is announced.
Call for Support - Raffle Donations (accepted Friday, 2nd May)
We are looking for donations to support the Election raffle stall. These can be stand-alone items or smaller items that can be combined for a gift basket. If you are willing to donate any of the following items, please send them to the front office by Friday, 2nd May, with a clear label “for election raffle”: vouchers, alcohol, candles, toiletries (i.e., lotion, perfume, etc.), or chocolates.
SCC Open Meeting - Tuesday, 17 June
The SCC Executive invites school community members to attend our open meeting in Term 2, Week 8 (Tuesday, 17 June) to meet other parents and share ideas about how we can work together to enhance St. Matthew’s Primary School for our children.
Thank you for being part of our St. Matthew’s Community.
