Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

294cc5fd0d44db8b200f3a9ff14be8e7.jpgElection Day Activities
I would like to offer a special vote of thanks to Chelsea Rey, Julia Rutter, Jessana Pirotta and Nijole Bentley who coordinated our BBQ and Book Stall on Saturday at the Federal Election Polling Booth.

Thank you also to the many volunteers who assisted with the various tasks during the day. It was a great team effort from our parents. I am delighted to report that their efforts raised over $3 400.

This money will be directed towards reducing ticket prices for our Anniversary Dinner in September.

Building Update
Our Building Company will take control of the Stage One Project next Tuesday. Mr Hunt’s Year Four class will move to their temporary classroom at the end of this week. We have been informed by Catholic Education that a temporary dismountable building will be located on our Junior Playground for the duration of the building projects. This building will be installed over the next school holidays, this will become the new learning space for our Year Four classes until Stage One is completed.
2023 Enrolments
Yesterday afternoon our school held the third Open Day for families who are seeking to enrol their child at our school. The official enrolment period concludes tomorrow.
We are however continuing to advertise for potential enrolments for next year’s cohorts.

Can you assist by distributing leaflets in the Strathnairn / Ginninderry district? We already have several families attending our school who reside in this area. We are seeking to inform families that St Matthew’s is a designated Catholic feeder school for this area.
If you can assist, please contact me via email or by phoning our Front Office.

Industrial Action
Hopefully you received notification earlier this week that St Matthew’s will be subject to Protected Industrial Action tomorrow. I anticipate that approximately half of our staff will be on site to provide limited supervision.

If you are unable to arrange alternative supervision, please contact the school via christine.answerth@cg.catholic.edu.au  indicating your child/ren’s name and class.

May God bless you and your families.
