Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome Back

Energy levels were extremely high on Tuesday morning as we welcomed children back for a new school year. It was lovely to see children reconnecting with friends that they may not have seen for six weeks. A warm welcome also to the new families that have joined our community this year.

The excitement levels were especially high amongst the Year Four, Five and Six cohorts as they moved into the new facilities of Stage One of the renovations. The facilities include a sophisticated heating and cooling system which will allow children to learn in comfort inside and outside their classrooms. The new facilities also include brand new furniture including some soft furnishings which were funded by our Community Council.

One child commented to me that “the new building is just beautiful”.

Staffing
Welcome to Mrs Michelle Roberts who has joined our staff this year teaching Year Five. Michelle is an experienced teacher who has previously taught at Good Shepherd at Amaroo. We hope Michelle enjoys her time at our school.

Swimming Carnival
Hopefully by now, if your child is in Years 1-6, you have received some correspondence regarding our school swimming carnival which is to be held next Wednesday (February 8th) at Dickson Pool. This correspondence was forwarded via the Compass app. If you did not receive this notification, please contact our Front Office.

Thank you to those parents who have already volunteered to assist on the day. Please contact Daniel Hunt daniel.hunt@cg.catholic.edu.au if you can help.

Picture3.jpgMeet the Teacher and Community Barbeque

Next Friday afternoon, February 10,our school will host two events. The first will be an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher in their classroom. The session will run from 4.45pm to 5.30pm. The teacher will provide a written handout which should help you to become acquainted with the class routines and upcoming events.Picture4.jpg

Following this session our community will hold a Welcome Barbeque on the Belconnen Way side of the school. This is a great opportunity to reconnect or meet members of our school community.

We will require the help of volunteers to assist in the set-up and cooking of the sausages. If you can help, please email me on graham.pollard@cg.catholic.edu.au

May God bless you and your families.
