Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope the term has ended well for you and your family. I know the children and staff are keen to have a break and recharge their batteries. A fellow teacher once told me that Term Two is the hardest term of the year because you are moving into Winter. I hope that thought might fill you with some optimism for the remainder of the year.
We are hopeful that much of the noisy, dusty demolition work in Stage Two will be completed during the next two weeks, while everyone is off site.
I would like to thank those teachers who have been asked to relocate to another learning space for their patience and good humour. The children have quickly adapted and are enjoying the excitement associated with the move.
There will be some additional changes to access points as the new term begins. Once again, we will communicate these changes to you when they are finalised and in operation.
Congratulations
I would like to offer our congratulations to those children in our school who received the sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday evening. The chief presider was Archbishop Christopher Prowse who concelebrated the mass with Fr Simon Falk.
The celebration is the end point in a thorough preparation which included a retreat with the children of St Vincent’s Aranda and class preparation.
Thank you also to the two Yr 6 teachers, Hannah Beissner and Daniel Hunt who were ably supported by our acting REC, Sam Hornby.
Change of Sports Uniform Day
From next term children will be asked to wear their Sports Uniform on Tuesday and Friday (moved from Thursday).
This will allow the children to be appropriately dressed when our new Sports Teacher begins his role at the beginning of Term Three.
Farewell and Thankyou
I would like to wish Mrs Anne Hodgkin and Mrs Michelle Roberts every happiness as they begin new chapters in their life. Our staff had an opportunity to thank Anne at a luncheon on Wednesday. The children also farewelled both ladies at Morning Assembly during this week.
Replacements for these teachers, especially our Japanese Teacher, will be announced when they are finalised at the beginning of next term.
First Day Term Three
Just a reminder that school will resume on Tuesday July 18th following the Term Two holidays.
Have a lovely, restful break and enjoy the company of your children.
May God bless you and your families this week.
Graham Pollard
Principal
