Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers
After one or two false starts, work commenced on Monday on the dismantling and rebuilding of our Senior Playground equipment.
Amid much excitement and a touch of sadness, the children watched the removal of the old equipment and softfall material. We are anticipating work to be completed towards the end of this term.
Perfect timing for a holiday play!
First Holy Communion
This weekend many of the children in our Year Four cohort will make their First Holy Communion at St Matthew’s Church. This will be the final stage in a thorough preparation which has included home and schoolwork, Commitment Masses, and a Retreat Day.
We ask for God’s blessing on these children as they take this next important step in their faith journey.
Polling Booth
Our school has been selected to act as a polling booth for the upcoming Referendum Poll. Voters will cast their vote in our school hall. I anticipate that our Community Council will be keen to host a BBQ or cake stall on this day as a fundraiser.
Could you please make contact with the school via our Front Office if you would like to assist or coordinate this event.
Lost Property
Our Lost Property cupboard is overflowing once again. If your child has lost an article of clothing, could you encourage them to check the cupboard.
All unnamed clothing, in good order, will be donated to our Used Clothing Pool at the end of the term.
Mrs Sarah Lowe
Our new Principal, Mrs Lowe will make her first visit to St Matthew’s next Monday. Mrs Lowe will visit each class and meet the staff at morning tea.
Mrs Lowe will visit once again in Term Four for a handover meeting.
May God bless you and your families this week.
