Tell Them From Me: Your Questions Answered!

Our recent survey indicated to us that there are some issues which are proving to be confusing, or which require clarification for some of our families. This term, I’ll be addressing these in my fortnightly newsletter inclusion. This week, let’s clarify the manner in which we communicate with our community.

Like most Archdiocesan schools, we use the Compass app to send home information about excursions and school events, and to update families about important and emerging developments in the school. We also use Compass to let you know that the newsletter has been published. There’s some information about how to access Compass a bit further down the newsletter. If you’re having trouble, please contact the front office and Chris or Rachel will be able to help you out. 

We’ve come to realise that a hard copy note – one that you can put on the fridge – is sometimes more helpful, and we’ll endeavour to send home more of these in future when we think it would be beneficial.

Our school community values face-to-face meetings and telephone conversations, and these forms of communication are preferred in many situations in order to discuss student achievements or other issues. However, we acknowledge that email is very convenient for parents who may find it difficult to speak to school staff during regular work hours. If you would like to meet with a teacher face-to-face, or over the telephone, please email them to arrange a good time. 

Our recent survey indicated that we are doing much better at keeping our families informed, but we’re always open to great suggestions! Please get in touch with me if you have any other questions about how we communicate with the community, or if you have some ideas you’d like to share.
