Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

Each year at this time we send a call out for any members of our community who may be interested in joining our Community Council. At the end of this year, we will lose two members whose children are leaving the school; however, as well as replacing these people, we are keen to expand the membership of the Council to include up to four new members.

The time commitment is two meetings per term (Tuesday evening Weeks Three and Eight of each term). Meetings are held in the school staffroom and commence at 6.00pm and normally conclude by 7.30pm.

The role of the Council is quite diverse. Obviously, it fulfills a Governance role, by way of example, a member of our Council has joined a committee to review our current Out of Hours Care Provider. Equally though, the Council plays an important role in building community in the school such as leading a committee to help organise the recent Trivia Night. The Council is comprised of three staff members, the Principal, Assistant Principal and staff representative, the Parish Priest and parent representatives.

Could I encourage you to consider joining the Council. In many respects, the school is still suffering from the after effects of the Pandemic. I sense our community is keen to get back to some normalcy and enjoy all the benefits that a well-connected and supportive school community can provide.

Please feel free to email me at graham.pollard@cg.catholic.edu.au or our Chairperson Kylie McNamara kylieamcnamara@gmail.com if you would like to be considered as a prospective member or if you require further information.

May God bless you and your families this week.
