Dear Parents and Carers
I would like to offer a special vote of thanks to Chelsea Rey, Julia Rutter, Jessana Pirotta and Nijole Bentley who coordinated our BBQ and Book Stall on Saturday at the Federal Election Polling Booth.
Thank you also to the many volunteers who assisted with the various tasks during the day. It was a great team effort from our parents. I am delighted to report that their efforts raised over $3 400.
This money will be directed towards reducing ticket prices for our Anniversary Dinner in September.
Our Building Company will take control of the Stage One Project next Tuesday. Mr Hunt’s Year Four class will move to their temporary classroom at the end of this week. We have been informed by Catholic Education that a temporary dismountable building will be located on our Junior Playground for the duration of the building projects. This building will be installed over the next school holidays, this will become the new learning space for our Year Four classes until Stage One is completed.
Yesterday afternoon our school held the third Open Day for families who are seeking to enrol their child at our school. The official enrolment period concludes tomorrow.
Industrial Action
Hopefully you received notification earlier this week that St Matthew’s will be subject to Protected Industrial Action tomorrow. I anticipate that approximately half of our staff will be on site to provide limited supervision.
If you are unable to arrange alternative supervision, please contact the school via christine.answerth@cg.catholic.edu.au indicating your child/ren’s name and class.
May God bless you and your families.
Graham Pollard
Principal
During the next few weeks, we invite students, teachers and parents to provide feedback on their experience of our school using an online survey. These surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process.
We would like to invite you to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community, we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and wellbeing at St Matthew’s Primary School.
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. It is open until June 10. You can access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device by using the URL below:
